FINAL CONSECRATION AND DEACONATE ORDINATION IN NIGERIA
The Holy Trinity Region Cameroon /Nigeria begins the New Year 2011 with a Big Occasion: The Final Profession and Deaconate Ordination in Nigeria. On 7th of January 2011 at 10:00 in Saint Thomas Catholic Church Uke, Br. Geoffery Chidi Onukwuli SAC, Br. Peter Ndubisi Ugwuegbulem SAC, Br. Marcel Chibuzor Emeribe SAC and Br. Cosmas Chidi Onwukwuru SAC made their final profession after the formation in South Africa (Postulancy, Novitiate, Philosophy and Theology studies). It was a big Event to the Pallottine Community. The Regional Superior Rev. Fr. Bruno Ateba receives the consecration. Rev. Fr. Bruno invites them in his homily to be the salt of the earth, the light of the world and an apostle of Jesus Christ in our Society today. Pallottine priests, the Postulants, a lot of Rev. Brothers and Sisters, relatives, friends and families attended the Mass. The day after, on 8th of January 2011 by 10:00 am, at St Paulfs Catholic Church Obeledu: the four confreres, Br. Geoffery Chidi Onukwuli SAC, Br. Peter Ndubisi Ugwuegbulem SAC, Br. Marcel Chibuzor Emeribe SAC and Br. Cosmas Chidi Onwukwe SAC were ordained deacons by His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor: The Apostolic Administrator of Awka Diocese. The Bishop in his homily invites them to be servants in the church. A deacon is a servant, he proclaims the good news, he preaches, he can give baptism. The Church was filled with families, friends and relatives. At the end of the mass, the Regional Superior Rev. Fr. Bruno Ateba thanked in a special way the Bishop for his availability and presence for this event and wished him a happy new year. Our Region wished the new ordained deacons Godfs blessings in their mission. The Pallottine throughout the world rejoice for Godfs blessings to their community and to the Universal Church through His gift of deacons to serve the purpose of His Church; the proclamation of the good news to all nations. The deacons are therefore invited to imitate Christ who called them to His ministry and to follow the example of their Founder St Vincent Pallotti.
We thank in a special way Rev. Fr. Peter Hillen, Rev. Fr. Sostene Abolo, Fr John Nwaocha and the Postulancy who organized this feast.
Fr. Bruno ATEBA, SAC
